When considering the COP of air source heat pumps in relation to the external temperature, you will find that they can operate efficiently throughout the year, despite some slight fluctuations. In order to be able to compare heat pumps based on how much they are affected by these efficiency variations, we used seasonal COP
In winter, a heat pump extracts heat from the outside air and transports it inside. In the summer, the heat pump extracts heat from the indoor air and pumps it outside to cool the pool.
The refrigerant inside the outdoor unit absorbs the heat from the water and releases it to the outside environment so that the heat pump can cool the home when needed.
